Editage will exhibit at the Society for Scholarly Publishing Meeting in Arlington, Virginia, May 30–June 1
As part of its ongoing efforts to stay connected to the international editing and publication community, Editage/Cactus Communications, Inc. attends and exhibits at major conferences aimed at those audiences throughout the year. One such key meeting is sponsored by The Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP). This year, Editage will be exhibiting at the 34th SSP Annual meeting from May 30-June 1, 2012, in Arlington, VA.
This important meeting brings together journal publishers, librarians, editors, and others related to the field of scholarly publishing to meet, learn, network, and exchange ideas.
“Social, Mobile, Agile, Global: Are you Ready?” – the theme of this year’s meeting, will focus on some of the crucial issues facing the international editing and publication community, and feature a variety of speakers who will discuss topics related to this continually growing and changing landscape.

Editage will exhibit at the Council of Science Editors Meeting in Seattle, Washington, May 19-21
Editage/Cactus Communications, Inc. will be an exhibitor at the upcoming 55th Annual Council of Science Editors (CSE) meeting in Seattle, Washington, from May 18-21, 2012. We will be represented by Donald Samulack, PhD, and Sandi McIntyre from the U.S. office, and by Daniel Rosario and Naveen Rajan from the Mumbai office.
The theme of this year’s meeting – “Our Authors, Ourselves: Science Editing and Publishing in a Global Market” – will focus on the ever-increasing number of international authors who aim to publish in scholarly journals and the impact this is having on all aspects of editorial work. Approximately 400 attendees, including journal publishers, researchers, authors, and editing services companies are expected to attend.
Editage will be presenting a poster at the meeting entitled “Optimizing the output of a freelance editing model: Value added by an in-house reviewing team.” At last year’s CSE Meeting in Baltimore, MD, Editage won the 2011 Best Poster Award for our poster entitled “Does having a non-English first language hinder competence in manuscript editing?” We hope that this year’s poster will be equally well received.
